Rahu is a North node of Moon in Vedic Astrology.
Depending on how Rahu is situated in your horoscope gives you good or bad results in Rahu Mahadasha Period.
In Rahu, Mahadasha Rahu gives very good results in terms of Money, Fame, Wealth.
Rahu is also Responsible for Marriage. It gives a sudden Marriage.
Rahu gives Positive results when it is sitting alone and should not with any conjunction. But Rahu when sitting with Mercury gives good results. It can make a person extremely intelligent, extremely clever and Business oriented.
Rahu Mahadasha gives very good results when Rahu is sitting in 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses.
In 2nd house- Rahu gives you Accumulated wealth in its dasha.
In 3rd house- Rahu gives you courage, Strength and Performance in its dasha.
In 6th house- Rahu gives Victory over your enemies in its dasha.

Rahu Mahadasha Results, when Rahu is in different signs
When Rahu is in Air signs ( Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), Rahu gives very good results in its dasha. It makes a Person very clever, intelligent, and a Person can be a good Public Speaker, also Successful Businessman in Rahu Mahadasha.
When Rahu is in Earth Signs ( Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), Rahu works well. In earth signs Rahu desires are stable. Rahu is obsessed with the Path. Overall Rahu gives very good results in earth signs in its dasha.
When Rahu is in Fire signs ( Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), Rahu gives Neutral results in its dasha. Rahu does not like in Fiery signs.
When Rahu is in Water signs ( Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces), Rahu does not work well. Because Rahu is a Planet thinks logically. Water signs are emotionally thinking signs.
